Cylinders

They are the cylindrical pieces that contain the piston in its interior. The space inside this cylinder, the top of the piston and the head, form the combustion chamber, which is where the combustion of the engines occurs.

The cylinder volume indicates the cylinder capacity of each cylinder, the sum of which forms the total cylinder capacity of the engine.

Piston (or plunger)

It is a cylindrical piece closed in the upper part and open in the bottom that adapts to the size of the cylinder, working in its interior. It is one of the main parts of the car’s engine.

Sealing rings

They are rings around the pistons to seal the combustion chamber and prevent oil from entering the crankcase and also to let the mixture flow from the chamber into the crankcase.

Head

It is the “bonnet” of the engine, closing the top of the cylinders. It is in the heads that are the candles and valves of admission and exhaust.

Connecting rod

It is the rod that connects the piston to the crankshaft, transmitting the rectilinear movement of the pistons to the crankshaft.

Crankshaft

Also known as a crankshaft, it is the one that causes the pistons to move from the PMI to the PMS. It transforms the reciprocating rectilinear motion of the pistons in rotation to the axis, causing the wheels to move.

Valves

There are two types of valve: inlet and exhaust. They should open at the right time to allow air and fuel to enter and exhaust combustion gases.

Spark plug

It is responsible for causing the spark that starts the combustion of the mixture of air and fuel inside the cylinders.

Carter

The friction between the movable parts of the motor causes the parts of the motor of the car to wear out, for which lubricating oil is used. When the engine is switched on, the oil is distributed to the other parts.
